PHH Meetings
PHH meets at 7:30 on the second Wednesday of each month at the Hackettstown Community Center, Main Street, 2nd Floor.
Your Help is Needed
Town and committee meetings are held throughout the month and often focus on issues affecting the historic preservation of Hackettstown. Public opinion does count and has helped to pass and prevent several proposed ordinances this year, affecting all the residents of our town. Town meetings begin at 7:30pm and are held in the Town Hall, Stiger Street, unless otherwise noted.
What Not to Do With an Historic Home
Do you own or are you interested in purchasing an Historic Home? Ever see an historic treasure that's been severely insulted by ill-conceived "repairs" or additions? Does that give you pause when considering the upkeep of your pride and joy? What resources are available to help you? How can you enjoy the benefits, avoid the pitfalls, and maintain the investment you've made in that Historic Home?

If you've faced these issues or have other related questions about the care and feeding of an Historic Home, Preserve Historic Hackettstown, Inc. cordially invites you to join us at the First Presbyterian Chapel on Main Street in Hackettstown on Saturday, March 29, 2008. We will be hosting a panel discussion from 11:00AM to 3:00PM featuring the insights of experts in rehabilitating and maintaining historic structures:
Andrea Tingry
Senior Historic Preservation Specialist at the State Historic Preservation Office
Caroline Young
Architect and Trustee of the Morris County Trust for Historic Preservation
Ken Miller
Chairman of the Morristown Historic Preservation Commission
Art Palumbo
Architect and Historic Preservation Specialist

Admission is $5.00 per person, which can be paid in advance by contacting Phyllis Prestopine (908-852-5941) or at the door. Reserve your seats now, as seating will be limited.

Lunch will be available for $8.00/person from the Presbyterian Capital Fund Drive, with proceeds going to preserve the Presbyterian Chapel, a beautiful example of Greek Revival architecture that opened in 1819.

Come enjoy food and new friends, while learning about what you don't want to do to an Historic Home. There's lots of history out there worth saving and we'd like to help you get started!
